A Message from Joe.
This philanthropic project is very personal for me and my family. The property we are developing for the project is a horse farm located across the street from RAF’s proposed location, which we owned and operated for 35 years. Sadly, in 2014, two separate accidents took the lives of three close family members much too early, including my 43-year-old daughter, Tami; my 10-year-old granddaughter,
Jess; and my 41-year-old daughter-in-law, Jessica. All of them shared a love for art and nature. Tami served as Director of Philanthropy for The Nature Conservancy, and served as the Chairwoman for the environmental non-profit, EarthShare of Georgia. She was also a founding member of the Museum School Foundation of Avondale Estates. At 9 years old, Jess petitioned the city of Avondale to place a ‘squirrel crossing’ sign on her street. Jessica and my stepson lived in the home at the corner of this property before moving to the north Georgia mountains where she was very active outdoors, and looking forward to opening a herbal natural remedies health wellness store. This project on this property is near and dear to my family and our friends as a fitting way to honor their lives and to memorialize their spirits.
